Connected Kimono is a sound installation created following an invitation from Japanese artist Akane Yorita to rethink the kimono as a textile object.
Kimono means ‘something worn on oneself’. With ‘Connected Kimono’ , Elodie Serhane-Ferré proposes making it something worn ‘outside oneself’, a transmitter and unifer of traditions.

Her voice echoes the traditional songs of artist Akane Yorita, thus reconnecting our two cultural and artistic worlds.

The installation is located in Japan and is now part of the Japanese artist’s collection.
